NSS unit of SMVDU, Katra organized ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign event at Govt. High School, Sirah. NSS Volunteers donated 75 saplings to the school students to celebrate 75 years of independence. The event was organized in collaboration with Wildlife Conservation Fund, J&K. The main objective of the event was to make students aware about the value of our mother earth, environment and sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The plants donated were mainly fruits, medicinal and indigenous in nature. School Principal, Mrs. Rachna Kumari appreciated the efforts of NSS SMVDU volunteers for organizing the event. University NSS coordinator, Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Director, Wildlife Conservation Fund, Mr. Dheeraj Thapa were also present during the event and thanked school authorities for their cooperation in organizing the event. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar also, appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers.
