The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of SMVDU University donated 300 plant saplings under the aegis of “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” to Government High School, Sirah students. Each student was given 2 saplings to be planted at their home. The event aimed to educate students about the importance of trees and their role in keeping environment safe and healthy. Zonal education officer were also present during the event and appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers.
Furthermore, the volunteers conducted a session on personal hygiene, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness for overall health and well-being. The program concluded with NSS volunteers distributing saplings to the students, encouraging them to plant trees and nurture a greener environment. Plant saplings were also provided to the staff members of the school. NSS Programme coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar were also present during the event and briefed the gathering about the campaign. School headmistress Smt. Rachna thanked NSS SMVDU Katra volunteers for donating the saplings and conducting awareness session.
