NSS unit of SMVDU, Katra organized an awareness program in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the aegis of Khadi mahotsav. KVIC functions under Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India. The goal of the awareness session was to make students aware of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Vocal for Local” ideologies. Assistant Director, KVIC Shri Veer Bhan conducted the session and highlighted the efforts of Govt. to promote Khadi and local artisans in the area. A pledge ceremony was also organized to promote Khadi. Students also took selfie at the selfie point during the event. NSS Coordinator, Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Co-coordinator Dr. Kamaldeep appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragti Kumar congratulated NSS team for successfully organizing the event.
