SMVDU volunteers participated in Meri Maati Mera Desh Amrit Kalash Yatra

NSS SMVDU volunteers participated in Amrit Kalash Yatra at Panthal block organized by district administration under the aegis of Meri Maati Mera Desh. The event was organized at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Panthal. Maati was brought from various villages of the Panthal block by their respective Panch and Sarpanch. The same was added to Amrit kalash for the Panthal block. It will go to district level, state level and then to National Capital in making Amrit vatika and Shaheed Memorial. The event started with cultural performances by school students and university NSS volunteers. NSS volunteers Suhani Sharma recited a Hindi poem on the occasion and Mridul sang a patriotic song ‘Teri Mitti Mein Mil Jaavan’. North zone cultural team from Patiala presented a nukkad naatak on the occasion. Pledge ceremony for the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign was also organized. More than 400 participants were there during the celebration. BDO Katra, Shri Manoj Raina, DDC Panthal, Shri Rajender Mengi, team from 6th Battalion of CRPF, NSS coordinator of university Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Principal of school Smt. Renuka Sharma along with staff members were also present during the mega event. Vice chancellor Prof. Pragati Kumar congratulated team NSS for participating in the campaign.
