NSS SMVDU collected donations for Indian Association for Blind

NSS unit of SMVDU,Katra organized a donation collection drive for the Indian association for the blind (IAB) , Madurai, Tamilnadu. IAB affirms its commitment to empower visually challenged people become self-reliant by providing comprehensive rehabilitation, education and employment opportunities. IAB has a special focus on the socio economically disadvantaged visually challenged children and adults, particularly those from rural areas.

NSS SMVDU volunteers collected donations by selling badges/flags sent by the organization. University students, staff and faculty members actively participated in the drive and donated for the noble cause. The collection drive was organized for three days and volunteers collected Rs. 15000/- from the drive and donated the same to IAB. NSS coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar and co-coordinator Dr. Kamaldeep appreciated the efforts of volunteers in organizing the drive. Vice Chancellor Prof. Pragati Kumar also, appreciated the noble initiative by NSS team.
